Stoneware Dinnerware Sets

Hi I am guessing this may be stupid question so please don’t laugh at me but what is stoneware dinnerware? Is it a brand name or a type of dinnerware I’ve heard the name before but never know exactly what it was so I was hoping you could help me out, thanks Kristy.

Hey Kristy, it really not a stupid question because before you asked me I had no idea what stoneware dinnerware sets were. I had to do a little looking and ask a question or two myself and the funny thing it turns out I have a couple of sets in the house. Stoneware is just a type of material used to make the dinnerware and can be summed up as a man [ad#ad-block-1]made stone.
Most of the time stoneware dinnerware sets are used as a casual set, normally the colors are of earthly tones like brown or grey and they can and generally do have a glazed applied to give a nice shine to the stoneware set. Most of the time these are going to be an everyday type dinnerware that is dishwasher and microwave safe but each set does very so check with the manufacture. You can find a lot of stoneware dinnerware sets that are hand painted that have nice unique appeal to them.
